How to Prepare for Commercial Hood Cleaning

A short checklist to help your cleaning appointment go smoothly.

By Tennessee Hood Cleaners · Updated 2026-10-11

Before the crew arrives

A little preparation helps the crew start quickly and finish on time.

  • Turn off cooking equipment early so it can cool
  • Put away food and small items near the line
  • Clear the area under and around the hood
  • Confirm roof access and key or code
  • Share alarm and entry instructions
  • Tell us about any known issues

After the cleaning

Check that filters are installed, the area is wiped down, and you have received service documentation. Report any questions right away.

Final tips

The night of service, leave a contact number for the crew lead in case questions come up about access or equipment.

In the morning, check that pilot lights are relit, filters are back in place, and the fan runs before your first prep shift.
